n 2001 Lothian and Borders RIGS joined in partnership with Girlguiding East Lothian to introduce a geology theme to their programme. Since then, three colourful leaflets have been produced, exploring the geology of Barn's Ness, North Berwick and Belhaven Bay.

Geology Action has been organised by Alexandra Robb of Girlguiding East Lothian, and funding and other support has come from Scottish Natural Heritage, the Curry Fund of the Geologists Association, UKRIGS, Jane Robb's Mineral Museum and Science Year.
